Monza racetrack

Car circuit

The national autodrome of Monza is a car circuit hosting numerous car and motorcycle races. The best known of all, perhaps, is Formula One, which is held here, historically, with the Italian Grand Prix.

With its 5793 meters of track, this racetrack boasts numerous curiosities, including that of having been built in 1922 in just 100 days. Obviously, in almost 100 years the track has undergone numerous alterations and renovations, and the anatomy of the track has also changed its structure several times. The track is famous for being considered a true temple of speed: it is the fastest circuit among the 20 in the Formula 1 world championship, with an average lap speed of around 257 km/h.

The racetrack is located in the Monza Park, one of the largest and most historic parks in Europe, as well as the largest surrounded by walls, with its 688 hectares. Different species of flora and fauna live here, it is possible to take long walks or have fun with a rickshaw along its paths.

Monza itself is also worth a visit: its Gothic-style Cathedral is very famous, which resembles the Milan Cathedral in miniature. The Iron Crown, which belonged to Queen Teodolinda of the Lombards, is preserved here. On the crown, gilded and embellished with many stones, it is said that it was forged around one of the nails with which Christ was crucified. Surely, therefore, for the faithful it is a devotional relic, while for history and art history enthusiasts, it is an artifact of inestimable beauty and value.
